The Special seating service is for clients, both children and adults, with complex postural and mobility problems who are unable to maintain their position in a standard wheelchair or buggy.
What we offer:
A multidisciplinary team provides assessment, prescription and manufacturing of custom made seating equipment.

Referrals
Referrals are accepted via district wheelchair services or from Consultants and Allied Health professionals.
Clients of the service issued with special seating equipment can re- refer should their needs change. Special Seating Review Referral Form
Please be aware that an Initial referral form must be completed for a new client unknown to Special Seating and a known client who has not been seen for more than 2 years while a Review referral form must be completed for known clients seen within 2 years. In addition, all referral forms completed by referring Therapists must be sent directly to the funding District Wheelchair Service who will countersign and send the forms electronically on behalf of Therapist to Special Seating Service.
