Patients and visitors

Our 10,000 staff are committed to providing you with outstanding care, every time when visiting our hospitals.

We know that coming to hospital or your local health centre can be daunting and confusing, no matter how old you are or how many times you have been in the past.

Hospitals are big places. There are signposts all over the hospital to help you find where you want to go but please do not think twice about asking a member of staff for help, they will be more than happy to point you in the right direction.

All of our staff wear identity badges which should be visible at all times, and will be more than happy to point you in the right direction or help you find where you need to go.

At St George’s and Queen Mary’s there are also volunteers who will be happy to help you out. The volunteers at St George’s Hospital wear burgundy (dark red) shirts, and at Queen Mary’s Hospital the volunteers wear blue sashes. At both sites they are stationed around the hospital to help you find your way around.
