Membership

By becoming a member of St George’s University NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) you will be able to influence how the Trust develops and be kept informed of our progress.

What does membership mean?

Being a member demonstrates that you believe in our values: Kind, Excellent, Responsible, Respectful and that you care about the work we do and want to celebrate our successes.

Members also support our governors to help make sure that our work is in keeping with our values.  Members provide us with feedback, local knowledge and support on a voluntary basis. It’s one of the ways you can tell us what is important to you.

What can I expect as a member?

As a member you will receive regular news and information from the Trust and be invited to events and seminars on health issues and our work. You will also be invited to our Annual Members’ Meeting held every September.

One of the key roles for members is to elect our council of governors who represent the views of the membership to the Trust Board.  You are also able to stand for election as a governor yourself. Learn more about our Council of Governors here [link]

In recognition of the support you provide, you can receive discounts through Health Service Discounts: NHS Discounts, Offers & Codes giving a range of savings on restaurants, shopping and travel.

Who can become a member?

Anyone over the age of 14 who lives in England and Wales can become a member. Staff who have been employed by the Trust for at least 12 months also become members.

How do I become a member?
