Bespoke Course for IMG’s: ECG Interpretation

The Centre for International Medical Graduates (CIMG) offers a different approach to courses and coaching for doctors and medical students arriving in the UK to support the NHS.

Relevant to any doctor wanting to brush up on their ECG interpretation skills, our ECG interpretation course is a half-day, online course aimed at those new to clinical practice in the UK, delivered by an NHS consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist.

The aim of the course is to expose participants to a wide range of ECGs in the context of the clinical scenarios encountered whilst working in NHS acute hospitals and mental health trusts.

Course summary:

  • Half-day, online course costing £75 (which can be claimed back from study leave budget)
  • Pre-course workbook (to practice interpretation before the course)
  • Tutors are currently working professionals with first-hand experience and will give participants individual support time to answer their specific questions
  • Delivered over 8 lessons, tutors provide individual feedback
  • An opportunity to share experiences and connect with peers
  • Awards a certificate of participation equivalent to 4 hours of CPD credit
  • Access to video content after the course

Summary learning outcomes:

  • Confident interpretation of routine ECGs and ECGs in high-frequency acute and emergency care patients
  • Management of patients with abnormal ECGs in the context of the clinical presentation
  • How to organise and structure the conversation with a clinical colleague when discussing a challenging ECG
