Education & Development

Our education and development department commissions, co-ordinates and delivers an extensive portfolio of individual, team and organisation training and development activities.

Our main site, St George’s Hospital in Tooting – one of the country’s principal teaching hospitals – is shared with St George’s, University of London, which trains medical students and carries out advanced medical research.

St George’s Hospital also hosts the St George’s, University of London and Kingston University Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences, which is responsible for training a wide range of healthcare professionals from across the region. There are a host of medical education focussed seminars and courses offered by the Institute of Medical and Biomedical Education.

The St George’s Postgraduate Centre hosts a programme of events to support medical and dental education and training for foundation progamme trainees, core medical trainees and speciality medics, consultants and trainees. The Postgraduate Centre is located in the Education Centre at St George’s Hospital.

The St George’s Postgraduate  Centre is also home to the St George’s Advanced Patient Simulator (GAPS) and the Skills Centre. Many of the courses provided make use of the Simulation and Skills facilities.
