Early Pregnancy Unit

For concerns such as vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain, the EPU is a clinic open for walk-ins Monday–Saturday, 08:30–11:00am.

Please walk in to the clinic within these hours or leave a message with your name and telephone number on the answerphone and a nurse will call you back between (approximately) 14:00–16:30pm.

Out of hours, please attend your nearest A&E

Maternity Triage Line

For pregnancies more than 14 weeks

This is a telephone advice and assessment line run by Midwives. They can provide advice, reassurance and support if you have any urgent concerns during pregnancy (from 14 weeks onwards), for labour care, or after you have had your baby

You can call the triage line any time in the day or night, 7 days a week. Out of hours you will be given the option to select a ward to speak with.

If you have concerns such as:

• Baby moving less than usual
• You think your waters have broken
• Vaginal bleeding
• Severe abdominal pain
• Severe headaches
