Congratulations to St George’s Anaesthetic Team on their re-accreditation with the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

The team recently had the news confirmed that they had achieved the Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA) again, making St George’s one of only five Trusts across the country to do so for three consecutive years.

The accreditation was achieved after the department met all 225 of the Royal College of Anaesthetists’ standards for best practice, providing evidence of everything from high quality training standards, policies and procedures, to the best patient standards.

St George’s Anaesthetic department became one of the first to achieve accreditation when it was introduced by the Royal College.

Dr Carolyn Johnston, Consultant Anaesthetist at St George’s, said: “Our ongoing accreditation confirms our excellence in all aspects of safe and effective patient care.

“It’s been a real team effort from the anaesthetists and the wider theatres team, and we’re delighted to be one of the few Trusts to meet the standards for so long.”
