Map for patients

We have a large site and it can be difficult for patients to find the right part of the hospital. Please download and print a detailed map of wards for your patient.

Medical patients

You can refer patients directly to the medical on-call team by speaking to the medical nurse practitioner via the hospital’s switchboard on 020 8672 1255 and requesting bleep 7915. The patient should be advised to come immediately to the Emergency Department, with a referral letter addressed to the medical team On-call. In the Emergency Department the patient will be triaged and the medical team informed of his/her arrival. If stable, the patient will be assessed in the rapid assessment, area 3rd floor, St James wing.

Surgical patients

Please refer directly to the surgical registrar via switchboard, by calling 0208 672 1255. The patient should be sent to the Emergency Department where they will be assessed. If clinically appropriate they will be transferred to the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU). The direct number for this unit is 0208 725 2751. The SAU is based on Vernon Ward on the 4th Floor of St James’ Wing.

Other specialties

Please call the central switchboard on 0208 672 1255 and ask for the on-call registrar of the relevant specialty to be bleeped.
