We have been doing lots to improve the experience of women around the time of birth in theatre including changes to the length of time you can drink. Initially we asked mothers to ‘Sip til sending’ so you could drink until 0730 on the morning of surgery and then sip until you came down to theatre. Data has shown that we can still improve on this and we have now moved to asking you to “Stop Sipping, Keep Drinking” ie you can drink as much clear fluid as you like.
