The General Intensive Care service cares for the most severely ill patients in the hospital. The service is able care for, diagnose and treat virtually any acute illness. It uses an array of enhanced physiological monitoring systems, organ supportive therapies and complex treatments that necessitate a high staff to patient ratio of a highly skilled, multi-professional team.

  • 22 ICU Beds
  • GICU: 12 Beds
  • HDU/GICU BRODIE: 10 Beds

Current GICU Visiting Times

  • 11am – 7pm
  • 2 visitors only per patient, for period of up to 2 hours per day.
  • Please book your visit with the ward receptionist (Tel:020 8725 1307)
  • Some exceptions apply, please speak directly to the Nurse in charge/Matron.
  • Surgical Facemasks to be worn
  • Covid screening questionnaire to be completed 24 hours prior to visit.
