Dr Jonathan Aron
Clinical interests
Dr Aron is a Consultant in intensive care medicine and anaesthesia at St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His interests include haemodynamic monitoring, critical care echocardiography, end of life care and post-graduate medical education including simulation.
Dr Aron works on both the general and cardiothoracic intensive care units as well as providing anaesthesia for cardiology procedures. He is currently directorate lead for education. He is the Focused Intensive Care Echocardiography (FICE) lead for St George’s Hospital and runs a FICE accreditation course and program. In addition, he runs a Foundations of Intensive Care Medicine Course.
Professional profile
Dr Aron graduated from Guys, Kings and St Thomas’s School of medicine and has undertaken training in a number of specialities including emergency medicine, internal medicine, anaesthetics and intensive care medicine. During this period, he undertook clinical fellowships in major trauma at Kings College Hospital and cardiothoracic intensive care medicine, medical education and echocardiography at St George’s Hospital. He has also spent a year working in the developing world providing anaesthesia and critical care and continues to volunteer for Interplast UK, an organisation which offers cleft lip repairs and other procedures, to patients in Uganda.
