Dr Nirav Shah
Clinical interests
Dr Shah is a Consultant in intensive care medicine and anaesthesia at St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His interests include haemodynamic monitoring, perioperative medicine and optimisation, trauma and outcomes following surgery.
Dr Shah works on the general intensive care unit as well as providing anaesthesia for high risk surgery and is involved in high risk assessment and shared decision making prior to surgery. He is the perioperative lead for Intensive Care.
Professional profile
Dr Shah graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School and subsequently underwent specialist training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. During this time, he developed and undertook fellowships in perioperative medicine and high risk surgery.
His research interests primarily focus on haemodynamic monitoring, perioperative medicine and improving outcomes following major surgery.
