Dr Lakshminarasimhan Kuppurao

Dr. Lakshminarasimhan Kuppurao obtained his MBBS degree from Madurai Medical College, India in 1991, and his MD in anaesthesia from Christian Medical College, Vellore. He completed his anaesthetic training in the Wessex deanery, acquiring an FRCA qualification during this time. He has worked as a consultant in several cardiac centres in the UK and gained experience in anaesthesia for heart/lung transplantation and mechanical assist devices.

He joined St George’s Hospital as a consultant cardiothoracic anaesthetist in July 2023. He has a special interest in anaesthesia for major aortic surgery including aortic dissection. He has presented in multiple national and international meetings and has written review articles in the field of cardiothoracic anaesthesia.
