Dr Faisal Khan
Intervention Cardiology Consultant
Dr Faisal Khan graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2007 with a 1st class intercalated degree. He was selected for the competitive North East Thames Academic Foundation Programme during which time he was awarded the NHS leadership and innovation prize for improvements in service delivery. He went on to complete the South London Cardiology SpR rotation and was the first place winner of the TCT International Fellows section in 2017.
He undertook cardiovascular research at King’s College London with funding from the British Heart Foundation. He also gained catheter laboratory training at St George’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Barts Heart Centre before being selected as the inaugural British Cardiac Society structural fellow travelling to Bern, Switzerland where he received dedicated structural intervention training for a year.
Dr Khan has been actively involved in postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and has been an associate tutor for the Royal College of Physicians. He has designed and helped deliver simulation training and been involved with live catheter laboratory demonstrations.
He currently enjoys his work as a busy consultant in coronary and structural intervention. He provides regional emergency primary angioplasty and continues to develop the structural intervention service at St George’s Hospital.
