Dr Assunta Albanese
Clinical interests
Dr Albanese is a consultant paediatric endocrinologist who specialises in children affected by growth, pubertal adrenalthyroid and calcium disorders. She has a special interest in endocrine problems occurring in childhood malignancies.
Professional profile
Dr Albanese qualified as a doctor in Florence, Italy in 1988. Her postgraduate training was undertaken in Italy and in London at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
She became a research fellow at the Institute of Child Health, London and in 1995 attained an MPhil qualification.
Her publications have included work into delayed puberty and growth and endocrine disorders in oncology patients. She also makes regular presentations at international meetings.
