We are delighted to announce that three new Non-Executive Directors (NEDS) have been appointed to our Board of Directors.

Ann Beasley CBE and Stephen Collier joined us on 13 October. Gillian Norton, who has been an interim Non-Executive Director at the Trust for the last five months, has also been appointed for a full three year tenure.

Ann has a background in finance, her most recent role being Director General for the Finance, Assurance and Commercial Group at the Ministry of Justice. Ann has also been Chair of Trustees for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Stephen has worked extensively in the private health sector, including a period as Chair of the NHS Partners Network – the trade association for private providers to the NHS. He is also a Trustee of ReSurge Africa, a Scottish medical charity working in Ghana and Sierra Leone.

Gillian was most recently Chief Executive of Richmond Council, where her responsibilities included serving as health lead for the South London Partnership (a joint committee of the five south west London boroughs) and local government lead on the region’s Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP). Gillian has also recently been appointed to the honorary position of Representative Deputy Lieutenant for Richmond.
Sir David Henshaw, Trust Chair, said of the appointments: “We are fortunate to have appointed such high level candidates to these important roles. I am delighted that Ann, Stephen and Gillian have decided to join the team at St George’s. Their wide ranging experience, knowledge and insight from previous roles will strengthen and complement the skills of the Board as we continue on the improvement journey we have set ourselves’.

The appointments were approved last week (13 October 2016) at a full meeting of the Trust’s Council of Governors, which includes elected representatives of patients, members of the public and staff.
