It is extremely cold today (Monday 26 February), with a high risk of icy conditions and heavy snow over the coming week as well.

We are not expecting major disruption to the hospital and community services we provide – and all patients should attend for their appointments as planned.

As a precaution, however, we would encourage all patients to allow enough time for their journey, and to plan ahead.

The Transport for London website provides real-time updates – simply go to www.tfl.gov.uk

Pre-booked transport for patients

Unfortunately, we do expect the cold weather to impact on pre-booked patient transport as a result of delays and traffic problems.

If you have patient transport booked, our teams will do everything they can to get you to your appointment on time. However, we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

As always, please take care, and continue to use our services, particularly the Emergency Department at St George’s, wisely.

Thank you for your co-operation.
