Welcome

With around 6,000 staff caring for patients around the clock, St George's Healthcare NHS Trust is one of the country's largest teaching hospitals, treating more than 500,000 patients every year. We share our main site in Tooting with St George's, University of London, which trains medical students and carries out advanced medical research.

We run the Wolfson Neurorehabilitation Centre in Wimbledon, which cares for patients with acquired neurological conditions, such as stroke and spinal injuries. St George's also provides local services at St John's Therapy Centre in Battersea.

Delivering world-class healthcare

St George's provides all the usual care you would expect from a local acute hospital, including accident and emergency, maternity services and care for women and children - but, as a leading teaching hospital, we also offer specialist care for the most complex injuries and illnesses, and have been recognised for the high quality of our services.

Dr Foster Intelligence, the publisher of the Hospital Guide, named St George's as its 'Large Trust of the Year' for 2009 after we were awarded one of their top scores across thirteen safety indicators. Our infection control team was also recognised in 2009 for their success in fighting bugs such as MRSA and C.Diff.

As well as having an established reputation for the highest quality healthcare, we are proud to serve our local community. It is our vision to be the hospital of choice for all patients, whether they are from the local population, attending routine clinics, or from further away, benefiting from our specialist services.
