Simon started at St George’s in 1998 after he graduated from Surrey University. He then spent a year in Australia nursing in Surgery & Orthopaedics. He returned to St George’s as Ward Manager in October 2002 until October 2008. Simon then held the positions of Acting Matron in T&O in 2008, Bed Manager in 2009, Lead Nurse for Major Trauma in 2010, Surgical Division Discharge Coordinator from 2010 to 2012, T&O ward manager 2012 to 2014 before becoming a Clinial Nurse specialist in the P&A unit in 2014. Simon is qualified and experienced in Orthopaedic, teaching, initial management of Polytrauma, respiratory, infection control, leadership and physical assessment. He has heavily contributed to various in-house, local and national teaching courses as well as contributing to significant service change and development over 18 years in T&O.

Simon is the main link the ensures the smooth running of the pelvic unit and is the main contact point for internal and external referrals. He coordinates operation lists and ensures patients are ready for theatre, reviews patients daily on the ward, organizes discharges and follow ups. He also runs the weekly Pelvic MDT where the whole team meets to discuss cases, make clinical decisions and instigate management plans.
