Simon started at St George’s in 1998 after he graduated from Surrey University. He spent a year in Australia nursing in Surgery & Orthopaedics and returned to St George’s in 2001.  Simon held the positions of T&O Ward Manager from October 2002 until October 2008, Acting T&O Matron in 2008, Bed Manager in 2009, Lead Nurse for Major Trauma in 2010, Surgical Division Discharge Coordinator from 2010 until 2012 and T&O ward manager from 2012 until 2014 before becoming a T&O Clinical Nurse specialist in 2014.

Simon is qualified and experienced in Trauma and Orthopaedics, teaching, respiratory management, infection control, physical assessment and leadership. He has heavily contributed to various in-house, local and national teaching courses as well as contributing to significant service change and development during his 18 years in T&O.

Simon ensures the smooth running of the Pelvic and Acetabular Team and is the main contact for all internal and external referrals. He coordinates patient transfers, theatre lists, reviews patients daily on the ward, supports multi-disciplinary working and ensures appropriate follow up and review arrangements are in place.  Simon also coordinates the weekly Pelvic MDT where the Pelvic Team meets to discuss and review new and existing cases, make clinical decisions and instigate management plans.
