Professor Anna-Maria Belli
Clinical interests
Professor Belli is a consultant radiologist with a specialist interest in vascular interventional radiology. Her particular interests include the endovascular management of peripheral arterial disease embolisation for massive haemorrhage including trauma and obstetrics and the management of uterine fibroids.
She also has a specialist interest in the treatment of vascular malformations.
Professional profile
Professor Belli qualified in 1980 from the Middlesex Hospital and underwent radiology training at St George's Hospital before becoming a consultant in Sheffield. This was followed by the Hammersmith Hospital before she returned to St George's in 1992.
She became a professor of interventional radiology in 2008 and is currently clinical lead for interventional radiology. In additionProfessor Belli was president of the British Society of Interventional Radiology from 2001 to 2003 and served on the interventional procedures advisory committee of NICE between 2002 and 2008.
She has also served on the NICE clinical guidelines group for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding and also the committee of safety of devices for the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority from 2000 to 2009.
