Professional profile
Miss Umarji qualified from Oriel College, Oxford in 1996 and trained as a registrar on the South West Thames rotation. Her fellowship training was under the guidance of the internationally-renowned David Evans of the Windsor Hand Clinic, and the premier plastic surgery hand unit at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead.
She was appointed an orthopaedic hand surgeon at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2009 and continues to maintain an interest in research and education. Miss Umarji is presently the clinical lead for the Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics at St George’s Hospital and was the Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Tutor (2011-2015).
