Professional profile

Dr. Wei Jia Zhang is a Consultant Neurologist at St George’s and Croydon University Hospitals. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Cambridge before completing a PhD at University College London and the Francis Crick Institute.

She underwent higher specialist training in neurology at St George’s Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and the Royal Free Hospital in London. Her academic and clinical training was supported by prestigious fellowships, including the Leonard Wolfson Doctoral Training PhD Fellowship and an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship.

Dr. Zhang is an award-winning educator with a distinction in medical education (PGCert) from King’s College London. She has extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is an Educational Supervisor, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the Royal College of Physicians MRCP examination board.

Clinical interests:

Dr. Zhang has an interest in cognitive neurology and clinical trials. She runs a weekly cognitive clinic at St George’s Hospital and serves as a principal investigator for multiple dementia trials.
