Dr Matthew Laundy
Clinical interests
Dr Laundy is a consultant specialising in microbiology at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is the chief clinical information officer (CCIO) and has clinical interests in antimicrobial stewardship, outpatient parenteral antimicrobial service (OPAT), paediatric infections, medical informatics and infection control.
Professional profile
Dr Laundy qualified at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He initially began his training in paediatrics before changing to pursue a career in microbiology.
He undertook his microbiology training at University College London Hospitals, Great Ormond Street and the Whittington Hospitals. He also spent three years at Wexham Park Hospital as a consultant before taking up his appointment at St George's. He is currently clinical director for the specialist medicine directorate.
