Dr Kathy Davis
Clinical interests
Dr Davis is an honorary consultant and research fellow with a specialist interest in functional colorectal and pelvic floor disorders and stoma care. She attends consultant-led clinics including the monthly combined pelvic floor clinic, run jointly with urogynaecologists.
She manages a nurse-led pelvic floor clinic for patients requiring conservative management, including anorectal biofeedback and anorectal irrigation.
Professional profile
Dr Davis trained at the Royal Free Hospital, London, qualifying in 1981, and has worked in clinical and research posts in London and Australia.
Her clinical qualifications include intensive care nursing from Guy's Hospital, breast cancer care from The Royal Marsden Hospital and stoma care from St Bartholomew's Hospital.
She was appointed a clinical nurse specialist in 1993 and managed the stoma care departments at St Bartholomew's and subsequently St George's Hospitals in London, before pursuing a research role at the National Breast Cancer Centre in Sydney, Australia.
Dr Davis is also heavily involved in research, with highlights including the service delivery and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, nurse entrepreneurism, nurse prescribing and research methodology.
