Professional profile
Dr Frank Schroeder is a consultant for cardio-thoracic anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. Being very experienced in various sub-specialties of anaesthesia, his other main special interests include trans-oesophageal echocardiography (TOE) and high-risk obstetric anaesthesia.
He graduated from the Medical School at the University of Hamburg, Germany, and completed most of his training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. He joined the team at St George’s Hospital as a consultant in 2003.
Dr Schroeder is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) and the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM); he is an examiner for the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA); as well as an assessor for MBRRACE (Mothers and Babies: Reducing Risk through Confidential Enquiries). Currently he is the Care Group Lead for the Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTITU) at St George’s Hospital.
