Dr Doraid Alrifai is a consultant medical oncologist at St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London.
He manages patients diagnosed with thoracic and urological malignancies. He has significant experience in early and late-phase clinical trials.
In addition to his primary medical degree, he has also been awarded an MSc from the Institute of Cancer Research and a PhD studying the role of Tumour necrosis factor - Related Apoptosis Inducing Ligand (TRAIL) in thoracic malignancies from University College London. Before this, he worked at Genomics England Limited in the now-completed 100,000 Genomes Project.
Dr Alrifai has authored several peer-reviewed articles in high-impact factor journals and contributed chapters to oncology-based textbooks. Dr Alrifai also serves as a reviewer for national and international oncology journals.
Dr Alrifai currently supervises the junior faculty at St. Georges Hospital. As well as working as a full-time cancer treating physician, he has also played a crucial role in the setup and running of the Covid Medicine Delivery Unit (CMDU) at St Georges Hospital.
