Consultant Genetic Counsellor for Cancer; Clinical Lead- Virtual Family History Service

Andrea is a Consultant Genetic Counsellor for cancer in the Department of Clinical Genetics at St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She is also the clinical lead for the Virtual Family History Service.

Professional Profile

Andrea received her Master’s degree in genetic counselling from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, USA in 2004. She did research and clinical work on culturally tailored genetic counselling and alternative genetic counselling delivery methods before moving to the Fox Chase Cancer Centre in Philadelphia, USA in 2008.

After several years leading the genetic counselling team there, she moved to London and joined the team at the South West Thames Centre for Genomics at St. George’s Hospital in 2020 where she continues her work in cancer genetics. In 2025, she became the clinical lead for the newly established Virtual Family History Service, providing family history-based cancer risk assessment throughout the region.
