Lauren West, 23, was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition – Fanconi anaemia – has given birth to a healthy baby boy against the odds. Having fanconi anaemia reduces the chance of having a baby to 15%, which is further reduced after having a bone marrow transplant, as Lauren did, to less than 8%.
