St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has published its 2009/10 report and accounts, summarising key activity and achievements during the last financial year. The report examines the leading-edge care the trust provides to the local community and highlights how patients from across the country also benefit from its specialist services.

The report also takes the opportunity to celebrate the success of some of St George’s staff and clinical teams. A special section looks at some of the year’s key achievements, such as the trust’s ‘Large trust of the year’ award from Dr Foster Intelligence and the penile cancer team’s ‘Oncology team of the year’ award.

Chief executive David Astley said: “The last financial year saw St George’s reach important milestones, building on its financial stability and growing reputation for clinical excellence. For the third year in a row the trust recorded a financial surplus, making St George’s well placed to consolidate its position at the forefront of local and specialist healthcare in southwest London.

“2009 ended on a high note with the trust named ‘Large Trust of the Year’ by Dr Foster Intelligence, publisher of the Hospital Guide. I hope people will enjoy reading about this, and other areas where our staff and services have been recognised, in the awards section of this year’s report.”

The annual report is available to download. Hard copies are also available and can be requested by emailing communications@stgeorges.nhs.uk or calling 020 8725 5151.
