Critical: Between Life and Death launches on Tuesday 23 July.

In just under two weeks, St George’s will be seen around the world as Netflix premieres Critical: Between Life and Death – a gripping six-part documentary showcasing the reality of trauma care across London.

Filmed partly on-site last summer, the series follows the full journey of trauma patients at St George’s and the wider London Major Trauma System — from arrival by ambulance or air, through surgery and intensive care, to recovery. With 40 cameras embedded across the system for 21 days, it offers an unfiltered, emotional look at the expertise, compassion and teamwork that define our care.

As one of London’s four Major Trauma Centres, St George’s plays a vital role in a world-leading network that has saved thousands of lives since its launch in 2010. This documentary is a powerful tribute to that work — and to the people behind it.

Many of our wonderful colleagues were involved in the filming — and this week, we’re highlighting one of them. Meet Collette Clark, Sister/Charge Nurse in Theatre Services, whose team is featured in the series. In the video below, she speaks more about her role at St George’s.
