One year on: Say ‘thank you’ to St George’s staff
To mark the anniversary of the UK’s first Covid-19 lockdown, we would like your help in saying a big ‘thank you’ to St George’s staff for their incredible work throughout the pandemic.
In February, we gave celebrities – including Lorraine Kelly, Susanna Reid and Paul Hollywood – the chance to show their appreciation by recording a special video message for our staff.
This time we are inviting our patients and members of the local community to send us their messages of thanks and support.
We would love to hear from anyone who would like say to thank you
Emergency Department Nurse Georgina Day, who came up with the idea for the celebrity video, said: “We received fantastic feedback from St George’s staff, but also NHS workers across the nation who felt boosted and spurred on by the message.
“Many members of the public commented on the video and used it as an opportunity to share their own messages of support, which is why we would love to hear from anyone who would like to say thank you but hasn’t had the opportunity to do so yet.”
We will share the messages on 23 March – the same date people across the UK were told to stay at home for the first time last year.
If you would like to share a thank you message with St George’s staff, please send it to us via communications@stgeorges.nhs.uk.
You can say thank you in any way you would like to – it could be a selfie-style video, a drawing, or simply a photo of a handwritten card or message.
