New series of 24 Hours in A&E!
The RTS award-winning documentary series returns for a twenty first series following patients treated in the same 24-hour period at St George’s in south west London. The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.
Tonight’s episode – Nothing Can Divide Us – follows the story of two motorcyclists and the way in which bonds between loved ones are truly strengthened when the unforeseen happens.
35-year-old Prezmek is airlifted to St George’s after being involved in a high-speed motorcycle crash on the M4. As the Helicopter lands at the hospital we hear from Emergency Dr. Sophie about how the helicopter is only sent out to the sickest of patients. On landing Doctors are concerned that Przemek may have life-changing spinal injuries. Przemek’s wife Tatia tells of their romance and building a perfect life together, all of which is now in jeopardy.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Leon is brought into St George’s having crashed his motorbike into the central reservation. While doctors await the results of Leon’s CT scan, his mum Janey tells us about how her “cheeky” son who struggled with mainstream education.
