The RTS award-winning – and 2019 BAFTA nominated – documentary series is back with its 18th series on Channel 4.

The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – under more pressure than ever. It’s a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.

During this episode – You’re all I need to get by – we see the stories of three patients during one 24 hour period.

66 year old Paul is brought to St George’s after suddenly developing a dangerously high heart rate. His daughter and grandson are by his side as doctors attempt to lower his pulse with medication, but when this fails the medical team are forced to attempt more drastic treatment.

48 year old Nicky has come to A&E with a swelling in her throat. Doctors are concerned that it could be a side effect of the revolutionary new cancer treatment she is receiving.

7 year old Kit is in with his mum after he injured his chest in a golf buggy whilst on holiday.
