The RTS award-winning – and 2019 BAFTA nominated – documentary series returns for an 18th series.

The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – under more pressure than ever. It’s a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.

This episode – Mother’s little helper – displays the strength of unconditional love between parents and children.

Michelle is rushed to A&E with suspected sepsis. She is accompanied by her mum, dad and son Josiah. As doctors work to establish the cause of her infection, we hear how she battled to maintain a positive outlook and remain strong for her son despite a chronic diagnosis several years ago.

Charley, 14, has come to A&E with her Mum after getting part of an earring stuck in her ear. She is exceptionally brave as doctors attempt to extract the earring.

Meanwhile 9-year-old Benoit is in with abdominal pains and doctors are concerned that he may have appendicitis.
