Radiological protection centre
Established in 1985, the radiological protection centre (RPC) is the UK’s largest provider of expert radiation and laser protection advisory services to the healthcare and academic markets. Our client base includes over two hundred organisations and comprises a large number of acute NHS trusts, private hospitals, x-ray equipment manufacturers, dentists, veterinary surgeons, laser clinics and universities.
Our cost-effective services ensure that our customers meet their statutory obligations relating to radiation and laser safety. We provide comprehensive support through provision of audits, handbooks, training materials, software and newsletters so that the impact on customers’ own resources and time is minimised. This approach has led to a high rate of customer satisfaction.
RPC consists of a team of experienced clinical scientists and technicians, including two RPA 2000-certificated radiation protection advisers and three laser protection advisers. As such, we are able to offer a comprehensive range of services to wide range of customers with diverse needs.
RPC is part of St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust but operates from purpose-built premises in Morden which include offices, a lecture theatre, mechanical workshop, radioisotope area, calibration laboratories, a personal dosimetry lab and image analysis facilities. We are also accredited to the ISO9000 Quality Management standard.
