The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) looks after patients who need a higher level of care than normal after acute heart-related illnesses, such as a heart attack and arrhythmias.

As a critical care area, the Coronary Care Unit has a higher staffing ratio of specialised nurses of 1 nurse to 2 patients.

The unit is formed of two units; the main unit comprising of 7 beds on the 1st floor of Atkinson Morley Wing, and a further 4 beds located within Belgrave ward.

Children are allowed to visit the ward dependent on age and condition of the patient, please contact the Matron or Ward Manager before visiting with young children.
