The timetable for the Pain Management Programme is shown below
The Pain Management Programme is a group based course. All of the sessions are held in a group apart from the 1:1 review sessions at the end of each week.
It runs for three weeks with sessions
- 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) at the Phoenix Centre, St George’s Hospital. Sessions run 9.30am to 4.30pm with breaks planned throughout the day.
- 1 day a week (Friday) virtually (telephone / online). You will be allocated a time on a Friday morning for your 1:1 review appointment. In the afternoon, the exercise sessions take place online via MS teams
On each programme there are approximately eight people (18 years plus), men and women, all of whom have chronic pain.
Each Pain Management Programme follows the timetable. Sometimes we have to swap sessions around in the timetable, but we make sure that by the end of each programme, all the content has been covered
Prior to booking a programme place, we ask all participants to confirm that they have made arrangements to attend all sessions in the timetable. This is because each session builds on information presented in previous sessions. If sessions are missed, it makes it difficult for someone to fully benefit from the programme and it affects the progress of other group members.
After completing a Pain Management Programme, you will be offered 2 follow-up sessions to support you. Details can be found here Pain Management Programme Follow-up sessions
