Systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) is the use of drugs that affect the whole body. It aims to destroy cancer cells by stopping them from growing and dividing.

SACT drugs include, but are not limited to:

  • cytotoxic chemotherapy
  • biological therapies
  • targeted therapies
  • immunotherapy
