Professor Stephen Nussey
Clinical interests
Professor Nussey is a professor of endocrinology, specialising in a range of endocrine conditions. These include all aspects of pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid and gonadal diseases. He has also developed metabolic aspects of the care of both obese and anorectic patients.
He also works with a focus on diabetic retinopathy screening and has collaborated with paediatric colleagues on the late effects of the treatment of childhood malignancies.
Professional profile
Professor Nussey's first degree was in physiology at Oxford University. After earning a DPhil at the same institution he trained in medicine in Oxford and London.
In April 1987 he became a senior lecturer and consultant endocrinologist at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as was appointed professor of endocrinology in 2002.
