Clinical interests

Mr Odutoye is a consultant ear, nose and throat (ENT), and head and neck surgeon based solely at St George’s Hospital and Medical School, London. His main clinical interest is in all aspects of head and neck conditions and cancer surgery.

He specialises in surgical procedures on head and neck lumps and tumours, thyroid tumours and goitres, salivary gland conditions and tumours, and airway surgery.
He has a particular interest in treating head and neck cancers that occur in children and has been the de facto lead paediatric head and neck cancer surgeon for the South Thames area for the last eleven years, receiving referrals via the Royal Marsden Hospital from Brighton, Hastings, Kent and beyond.

Professional profile

Mr Odutoye was appointed a consultant at St George’s in 2003.
He completed his ENT residency in Scotland in Dundee and Edinburgh. He also undertook a one-year head and neck cancer fellowship at the Erasmus University Teaching Hospital in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 2001.

Since becoming a consultant, Mr Odutoye has in addition to his head and neck cancer clinical workload served in various clinical management roles, helping in these positions to improve patient care and pathways, uphold good clinical governance, worked to improve the clinical facilities at St George’s, and improved staff morale and working conditions. Management roles he has taken on include:

Head and Neck Cancer clinical lead – October 2007 – March 2011
Care group lead for ENT Surgery – August 2010 – August 2012
Clinical Director for Surgery – August 2012 – October 2015
Divisional Chair for Surgery, Cancer, Neurosciences, Theatres and Anaesthesia, and Trauma – October 2015 – December 2019.

Mr Odutoye is involved in teaching / training medical students and ENT trainees. He has run an annual international head and neck surgical course at St George’s since 2006. He also teaches abroad in Nigeria and Iraq.

Mr Odutoye would be delighted to attend GP practices to give a talk on any aspects of ENT or head and neck surgery.
