John graduated from The Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2006. He remained in London as a junior doctor before undertaking SpR training on the North East Thames Royal London Rotation. Exposure to complex arthroplasty included rotations at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital at Stanmore, the Royal London and Guy’s and St Thomas’. He completed two arthroplasty fellowships: The Barts Elective Orthopaedic Hospital and became the first UK trainee to complete one of the most sought after operative fellowships in America at the Rothman Institute, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. He commenced his position at St Georges Hospital and the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Hospital in August 2019.
His interests include the diagnosis and management of hip and knee arthritis, painful hip and knee replacements and revision of failed hip and knee replacements. He is widely published on periprosthetic joint infection, implant design and function.
