Professional profile
Mr Jason Bernard MD FRCS (EdTr & Orth) graduated from Glasgow University Faculty of Medicine in 1990. He trained in Orthopaedic Surgery both in Sheffield and at St George’s Hospital in London. Mr Bernard’s research fellowship in Sheffield led to a thesis in the assessment of osteoporotic fracture, and the award of his doctorate degree (MD). He completed Specialist Training for Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in 2003. A year spent at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital 2002-2003 was accredited for training in Specialist Spinal Surgery by the Specialist Advisory Committee of the Royal College of Surgeons. Mr Bernard was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to St George’s Hospital in 2004, and has developed the Spinal Surgery service there.
