Mr Hasan Qazi was appointed Consultant Urologist at St George’s University Hospital in February 2017, moving from Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

He completed his Basic Surgical Training in Liverpool and achieved his Doctorate in Urinary Bladder Cancer at the Academic Department at the University of Leicester, having been awarded a number of research grants, including the British Urological Foundation research award. He completed his Urology training from Glasgow and was the first British trainee to be invited for a 12 month Fellowship in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery at University Hospital Leipzig, a world-leading centre, under the supervision of Professor Jens-Uwe Stolzenburg, a pioneer in minimally invasive prostatectomy.

Mr Qazi was appointed Consultant Urologist in Glasgow in 2013 where he started Laparoscopic Pelvic Cancer surgery, and went on to start the Robotic Prostatectomy Program for the West of Scotland. He developed pathways for Prostate Cancer referral and management and trained a team for a large centralised service, prior to moving to St Geroge’s.

He has a sub-speciality interest in prostate cancer and lower urinary tract dysfunction.

He is actively involved in teaching and training at a number of international courses, and is the Course Director for the ‘innovations in laparoscopy’ course in Hamburg and has trained over 250 experienced Urologists from across Europe.
