Mr Bruce Okoye
Clinical interests
Mr Okoye is a consultant paediatric surgeon with a specialist interest in surgery for cancer in children. He also specialises in surgery for chest disorders in children.
In addition, Mr Okoye is a neonatal surgeon and also treats children with general surgical conditions such as hernias, hydroceles and undescended testes as well as general gastrointestinal surgery. He is well experienced in the use of minimally invasive procedures for a wide range of surgical conditions.
Professional profile
Mr Okoye qualified as a doctor in 1990 and trained in paediatric surgery at the children's hospitals of Bristol, Birmingham and Philadelphia, USA. He has a doctorate from the University of Liverpool following a thesis on the use of antenatal steroids in congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
He has been a consultant paediatric surgeon at St George's Hospital since 2003 and is an honorary consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He has several peer-reviewed publications.
