Miss Shan Shan Jing is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in hand, nerve, skin cancers, and general and aesthetic plastic surgery.

She qualified as a doctor obtaining distinction and first-class honours from University College London. Miss Jing completed her junior doctor training in London and Chelmsford, and subsequently went on to complete plastic surgery training in Manchester, where she was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Notably, she gained invaluable major trauma experience as part of the medical team that treated victims of the Manchester Arena Bombing in 2017.

Aspiring to specialise in hand surgery early on, Miss Jing completed a Training Interface Group Fellowship in Hand Surgery, followed by a specialist fellowship in peripheral nerve surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. In 2020, she earned the British Diploma in Hand Surgery from the BSSH and the University of Manchester, as well as the European Hand Diploma.

Miss Jing completed specialised cosmetic fellowships at prestigious institutes in Manchester and London. She further honed her skills with a Head and Neck microsurgery fellowship in New Zealand before returning to the UK to continue her practice.

Her dedication to staying at the forefront of surgical knowledge in hand, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery has taken her to renowned health centres across five continents, including the US, Europe, and Asia. Throughout her career, Miss Jing has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and delivered national and international presentations. She has been honoured with over 10 post-graduate awards.

A strong advocate for health equity and compassionate care, Miss Jing has participated in medical charity missions in low-resource countries across Africa and Asia, treating patients with complex limb and general plastic pathologies and supporting local healthcare teams through training.

In 2023, Miss Jing was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at St George’s and St Helier’s Hospital. She is a member of the regional skin MDT. She is an enthusiastic surgeon and educator, dedicates time to training future surgeons.
