Dr Tim Jones
Clinical interests
Dr Jones is a consultant in Rheumatology. He conducts clinics in General Rheumatology and cares for ward patients with rheumatological disorders. He has a particular interest in Ankylosing Spondylitis, early inflammatory arthritis, musculoskeletal medicine and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Professional profile
Dr Jones trained as a doctor at Oxford University and St Thomas Hospital, qualifying in 1989. He completed specialist training in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine in 2002 and attained FRCP(London) in 2006. He worked at The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre from 2003 until 2018 as Lead Consultant in the Upper Limb, Spine and Ankylosing Spondylitis units and during that time was the medical author of the NASS ‘Back to Action’ exercise programme for Ankylosing Spondylitis.
He has been a Rheumatology Consultant at St George’s Hospital London since 2018. He has completed a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from Cardiff University and a Diploma in focused ultrasound in Rheumatology from Canterbury University.
