Dr Sandra Calvert

Dr Calvert is a retired consultant neonatologist with a special interest in the respiratory management of babies.
Professional profile
Dr Calvert qualified in 1976 from Cambridge University. She trained in many large internationally acclaimed neonatal units in the UK, Canada and the USA including Oxford Women's College Hospital, Toronto and the Women and Infant's Hospital, Rhode Island.
Her research has included the coordination of large international multicentre trial use of high frequency oscillatory ventilation in preterm infants for which she was awarded a large MRC grant.
This resulted in numerous publications in leading journals including the New England Journal of Medicine.
