Dr Samuel Thayalan
Clinical interests
Dr Thayalan is a consultant occupational physician and the head of occupational health services at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He has a specialist interest in occupational rehabilitation and the investigation and management of work related illnesses.
Professional profile
Dr Thayalan qualified with an MBBS from the University of Peradeniy, Sri Lanka in 1985. His postgraduate training in occupational medicine was undertaken at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne. As part of his training, Dr Thayalan carried out a research project on occupational exposure to Ribavirin aerosol to healthcare workers.
Prior to his appointment at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2008 Dr Thayalan worked at Kingston, Epsom and St Helier Hospitals.
