Dr Katja Doerholt
Clinical interests
Dr Doerholt is a paediatric infectious diseases consultant with special interest in HIV and tuberculosis. She is one of three paediatric infectious diseases consultants care for patients admitted on our specialist ward and the unit is one of the national training centers in paediatric infectious diseases in the UK.
Professional profile
Dr Doerholt graduated from the Friedrich Wilhelm University, Bonn in 1992 and has worked in Germany, Africa and the UK. She completed an MSc in epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2004. After initially working as a consultant in Bristol, she joined St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2010.
Her research has been in paediatric HIV and more recently in antimicrobial resistance and prescribing.
