Clinical interests
Mrs Kenington has been a Consultant Surgeon at St. George’s Hospital since February 2019. She performs emergency abdominal operations including laparotomy and laparoscopy, Laparoscopic Gall bladder surgery including as an emergency and hernia surgery open and laparoscopic. Her specialist interests are emergency general surgery, Emergency Surgical Ambulatory Care and visceral major trauma surgery . She is a founder member of the National Forum of Acute Surgery and is the St George’s General Surgery Lead for the National Emergency Laparotomy Audit and for Major Trauma.
She has an interest in both undergraduate and post graduate medical education; She is the P year lead for Upper GI surgery at St George’s University of London and is a clinical supervisor for doctors in training and physician assistants. She is on the faculty for the Royal College of Surgeons courses; Basic Surgical Skills, Advanced Trauma Life Support and the Definitive Surgical Trauma Skills course.
Professional profile
Mrs Kenington went to Medical School at the University of Birmingham graduating with honours. She completed a Master’s degree in surgical technology from Imperial College London with a distinction for her thesis on surgical simulation. She completed her Surgical training in the Wessex region, followed by fellowships in Major Trauma Surgery in Cape Town, South Africa and King’s College Hospital.
